Assistant Professor of Neurology (Academic Clinician Track) in the Penn Epilepsy Center (PEC) and Inpatient Neurohospitalist Program
The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of acute, chronic and tertiary care of epilepsy patients, EEG interpretation, electrocorticography, and evaluation of patients for epilepsy surgery, including stereo EEG, Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy (LITT), intra and extraoperative functional brain mapping and neurostimulation, both in implantable devices and in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Expertise is also required in the specific area of inpatient Neurohospitalist care with a proven track record as a passionate educator committed to interdisciplinary care, patient safety, and quality improvement. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Board-eligible or certified in Neurology and Epilepsy.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching of medical students, residents, fellows and trainees at all levels, both in clinical neurology and epileptology.
Clinical responsibilities may include outpatient epilepsy clinics at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP); inpatient general Neurohospitalist service at PPMC; and EEG/ICU reading and EMU service at HUP.
