The Nursing Program at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Nursing position in its MSN: Entry Level (pre-licensure) nursing program.

In this role, you won't just be an educator; you will be a mentor and collaborator, working alongside a dedicated team to establish long-term goals and foster positive relationships across the university and with our clinical partners. The School of Nursing is vibrant and dynamic, and our faculty educate students to develop the knowledge, technical skills, and professionalism they will need to be compassionate and successful nurses and leaders. Our nursing programs and curricula are delivered in an environment that embraces multicultural and social justice perspectives, relationships, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the liberal arts. The faculty member will teach graduate-entry-level nursing students in the classroom, lab, simulation center, and clinical settings. This position is a 1.0 FTE, 9/12-month contract, with teaching spread across three terms (summer, fall, and spring), and is compatible with part-time clinical work.

As a member of our faculty, you will be accountable for student learning and program success by fulfilling the following core responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Mentorship: Facilitate learning for a diverse student population through evidence-based teaching, academic advising, and socialization into professional nursing roles.
  • Curriculum Excellence: Design, teach, and evaluate course content to ensure curricular integrity and the achievement of student learning outcomes.
  • Scholarship & Growth: Engage in scholarly activities that develop your expertise while contributing to the professional development of your peers through mentoring and review.
  • Leadership & Service: Serve on School of Nursing (SoN) or University committees and participate in recruitment and orientation activities.
  • Quality Improvement: Use assessment data to promote program outcomes and provide clear, timely feedback to students to support their clinical and academic growth.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in nursing with evidence of tested experience
OR Baccalaureate degree in nursing AND master's degree in related field with evidence of tested experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in nursing preferred
OR Doctoral degree in related field AND master's degree in nursing with evidence of tested experience
Simulation teaching highly desirable.
