Assistant Professor of Nursing
The Stabler Department of Nursing at York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Nursing to teach in our baccalaureate nursing (BSN) program, beginning August 2026.
We seek an experienced, innovative, and highly motivated nurse educator-scholar who is passionate about teaching, student success, and scholarly engagement. The successful candidate will join a collegial, student-centered, and collaborative department that values academic excellence, professional formation, and meaningful community engagement.
The successful candidate will bring clinical expertise in community or public health nursing; however, candidates with other relevant clinical backgrounds are also encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate a record of effective teaching and a commitment to student advising. The position includes teaching in both classroom and clinical settings and requires excellent communication skills, a collaborative spirit, and a strong commitment to professional development, scientific inquiry and scholarship that advances academic excellence and innovation within the Stabler Department of Nursing.
About Stabler Department of Nursing in YCP:
The Stabler Department of Nursing is a vibrant and growing academic unit comprised of 18 full-time faculty serving approximately 575 undergraduate and graduate nursing students. The department offers a wide range of programs, including a traditional BSN, Accelerated BSN, RN-to-BSN, MSN, Post-MSN Certificate programs for Nurse Practitioner education, and a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) program. This position will focus on teaching at the undergraduate level.
Faculty and students benefit from state-of-the-art simulation laboratories, modern instructional technologies, and strong regional clinical partnerships that enrich student learning and support faculty teaching and scholarship. Nursing students also have opportunities to participate in study abroad experiences and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) initiatives, fostering global perspectives in nursing education. Faculty are actively engaged in professional development and scholarly activities that promote innovation in teaching, research, and clinical practice.

Outcome:
The selected candidate will engage in teaching and mentoring undergraduates within our BSN program, supporting undergraduate experiences, and will participate in professional and service activities to benefit the college, its students, and the broader community.
- Teach undergraduate nursing courses and clinical in a face-to-face environment.
- Develop a strong record of professional development.
- Engage in scholarly activities consistent with any three of the scholarships of Teaching, Discovery, Application and Integration
- Maintain current knowledge related to nursing practice and clinical procedures.
- Serve as a professional role model for other faculty, staff, and students in the clinical setting.
- Evaluate course assignments and provide feedback to students in a timely manner.
- Advise students in regard to the nursing curriculum and career opportunities.
- Actively participate in departmental and college-wide committees as part of faculty service.
- Integrate technology into the teaching environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in nursing
- Doctoral degree or have a plan for completing a doctoral program within 5 years
- At least 3 years of experience in community or public health nursing
- Unencumbered Pennsylvania nursing license (active or eligible)
- At least 1 year of experience in teaching
