Position Description
The Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy (LDFP) at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream appointment in the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Health Care, within the Clinical, Social and Administrative Pharmacy (CSAP) division.
The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.
Qualifications
Academic Requirements
Candidates must have:
- A degree in a health care profession
- A PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, implementation services/sciences, health services research, or a closely related field (completed by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter)
- A background in Pharmacy or ≥1 year of postdoctoral experience (assets)
Research Expectations
Candidates must demonstrate:
- A strong record of research excellence, shown by:
- Publications in top-ranked or field-relevant journals
- Forthcoming high-quality publications
- Research statement
- Awards, conference presentations, distinctions
- Strong reference letters
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop an innovative, independent, and externally funded research program in areas such as:
- AI-driven health service delivery
- Health care interventions or evaluation
- Development, implementation, or evaluation of AI tools in health care
Teaching Expectations
Evidence of teaching excellence may include:
- Teaching statement and teaching dossier
- Course materials and teaching evaluations
- Record of:
- Classroom teaching
- Leading workshops/seminars
- Student mentorship
- Strong instructional presentations or conference posters
Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)
Candidates must submit a 1-page EDI statement detailing past, current, or planned contributions, including (examples):
- Inclusive pedagogy
- Research addressing underrepresented communities
- Public engagement with marginalized groups
- Mentorship of underrepresented students
Salary
Expected salary range: $130,000–$145,000 CAD per year, depending on experience.
Negotiation beyond this range may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
