"Assistant Professor of Political Science"

The Austin College Department of Political Science invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Political Science. Candidates must have PhD in hand before the position begins in August 2026.

We are searching for a position within American Politics or American Political Thought, with the ideal candidate having a teaching and research focus on Race, Ethnicity, and Politics. The successful candidate will possess a willingness to serve as the campus-wide pre-law advisor and develop courses (Constitutional Law required) in support of that program. As such, having a background in public law, courts and politics, the judiciary, and/or legal studies is necessary.

• statement of research, no more than one page
• a statement reflecting on the composition of our student body and outlining how they would engage all our students in their teaching, scholarship, and/or service.
