The Marriage and Family Therapy Master's program in the Psychology Department at Utah Tech University (UT) in St. George, Utah, invites applications for 2 full-time, 10-month, tenure-track positions as an Assistant Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy, with a projected start date of January 1, 2027,or July 1, 2027 or until filled. The preferred candidate will possess a terminal degree in MFT and be licensed or license-eligible in the State of Utah. Teaching responsibilities will include both graduate and undergraduate courses, with primary responsibilities within the MFT Master's program.
The Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program at Utah Tech University is a growing graduate program within the Department of Psychology dedicated to preparing students to serve others as practicing marriage and family therapists. Through a combination of rigorous academic training, diverse clinical experiences, research opportunities, and attentive supervision, the program develops culturally competent, ethical, and effective clinicians who make meaningful contributions to the profession and their communities. Emphasizing systemic theory, evidence-based practice, and hands-on clinical training, the program prepares students to work with individuals, couples, and families while meeting the educational and supervised clinical experience requirements for licensure in Utah. The Psychology department and its programs are situated in a new, 120,000 square foot building on the UT campus with dedicated space for a community mental health clinic. - Teach 24 credit hours of courses each academic year, consisting of courses within the undergraduate psychology program and graduate MFT program as well as one graduate course during the summer. Course assignments will be made by the Department Chair in consultation with the MFT Program Director, to address departmental needs and the expertise of faculty. Course assignments will include:
