Description
The Department of Behavioral Sciences at Flagler College invites applications for the appointment of Assistant Professor of Psychology (other ranks will be considered) starting in August 2026. Candidates must hold a Doctor of Psychology degree (PsyD) or a PhD in Psychology or a closely related field (or have a documented completion date prior to appointment). The preferred area of specialization is Clinical and Counseling Psychology with clinical and teaching experience. This is a full-time (4/4 load) faculty position, with courses taught at our campus in downtown St. Augustine, FL. Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities may also include teaching introductory courses such as introductory psychology and research methods as well as upper-level undergraduate courses within their discipline. Ideal candidates will contribute to the Core experience and Honors programs, participate in the life of the department and on-campus events, advise students, and serve on college committees. Future colleagues must demonstrate an ability and commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, mentoring, and conducting undergraduate research including supervising student research assistants and independent studies (as needed). Flagler College is an independent, co-educational college with an enrollment of over 2,200 students. The College is located in historic St. Augustine, Florida, approximately 35 miles south of Jacksonville and 55 miles north of Daytona Beach.
