Job Overview

The Department of Psychology at the University of Cincinnati (UC) seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor in clinical psychology who will contribute to the department’s research, undergraduate and graduate teaching, and service missions. Our department includes faculty with nationally funded research programs focused on neuropsychology, pediatric psychology, health equity, couples and families, immigrant populations, and other research areas, so potential for collaboration is strong. We are seeking a colleague who will make contributions to the research and clinical training experiences we offer in our clinical psychology doctoral program. Outside of the Psychology Department, this position affords opportunities to collaborate on research efforts with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, UC College of Medicine, and local community agencies. UC is a diverse university community, and it is a vital part of our mission to help students from a wide range of backgrounds to succeed.

The department is particularly interested in increasing its existing strength in international studies in clinical psychology, with a focus on the cultural relevance of clinical psychology to global populations. We are currently seeking to expand our offerings of undergraduate courses in clinical psychology.

  • Conduct an active program of research in areas including (but not limited to) diversity and cultural competencies in Clinical and Counseling Psychology, global clinical psychology, behavioral health, and the pedagogy of clinical psychology training. This includes maintaining a productive research agenda and disseminating findings through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and other scholarly outlets, and seeking grant support for studies.
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in their research activities.
  • Provide clinical supervision to doctoral students in the department’s Behavioral Health Center.
  • Contribute to service at the departmental, university, and professional levels. This includes participating in departmental committees (such as Honors and Awards or Undergraduate Curriculum Committee) and engaging in professional activities such as journal peer review and service on committees within relevant professional organizations.

Prior to effective date of appointment, all of the following:
