Position Details
The Department of Psychology at The University of Tampa is inviting applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2026. Candidates must have interest in and/or experience teaching introductory courses including general psychology, introductory research methods and statistics and other introductory psychology courses. Candidates will also have the opportunity to teach lower and upper-level classes in their specialty. Teaching responsibilities include 12 hours per semester, typically three, 4-hour courses each semester. Other responsibilities will include standard student advising, committee service, and maintaining an active record of scholarship.
The Psychology department at University of Tampa currently has 20 full-time faculty and approximately 550 undergraduate majors. Undergraduates are offered a high-quality educational experience and are provided with training in the clinical, organizational, biopsychology, cognitive, social, and developmental subfields. Experiential education is emphasized with numerous opportunities for faculty-mentored student research, internships, and service learning.
University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially-based private institution of more than 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Psychology. Preference will be given to candidates with interest in and/or experience with mentoring undergraduate research. College or university teaching experience and demonstrated scholarly activity in the field are preferred.
