Strong, ongoing record of productive scholarship, evidenced by
peer-reviewed publications in technical communication journals
and/or book series.
Expertise sufficient to direct master's theses and/or doctoral
dissertations in technical communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry experience as a technical writer, information
architect, UX designer/researcher, content strategist, or related
position.
- Research and teaching specialties in areas that widen Texas
State University's current and proposed graduate program curricula
including, but not limited to, digital humanities, emerging
technologies, international technical communication, and
professional. communication related to the fields of criminal
justice, construction science, and engineering
- Ability to teach varied curriculum in technical communication,
including courses such as editing, science writing, structured
authoring, international technical communication, content
management, data visualization, UX research with AI, writing with
AI, and document design.
- Evidence of experience developing and submitting competitive
research grant applications, accompanied by an explanation of the
impact of awarded funds, if any, on the candidate's research
agenda..
- Experience teaching in online or hybrid modalities.
