The Department of Family Practice, in partnership with the UBC Continuing Professional Development (CPD) unit within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC), invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure track).

Reporting to the Head of the Department of Family Practice and in consultation with the Associate Dean, CPD, this position will be expected to play a key role in advancing education, research, organizational development, and strategic partnerships to promote excellence and innovation in team-based primary care. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a theoretically informed, practically oriented CPD research program focusing on team-based care, digital technologies, and well-being. Additionally, the incumbent will provide leadership in education scholarship by generating new knowledge and promoting effective medical education strategies.

The successful candidate will support knowledge exchange and foster a deeper understanding of the complex factors that influence improved outcomes within diverse and evolving health systems. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the teaching activities of the Department, as well as provide mentorship and training to undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate learners. The incumbent will also be expected to provide service to the University and the broader academic and professional community.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD, EdD, MD, or MD/PhD. Eligibility for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia would be considered an asset. The successful candidate will have a focus and expertise in continuing professional development research, including the design of methodologies and the integration of emerging technologies that impact population health. The successful candidate will have experience in leading scholarly research and advising leadership on research strategies, and exploring collaborative opportunities for scholarly work. The successful candidate will have demonstrated evidence of teaching and scholarly activity.

The expected starting salary range for this position is $135,000 to $150,000 per annum.

  • publications record;
  • and names of three referees.
