Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, Pediatric Sarcoma Research

Description

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of basic and translational research in pediatric sarcomas. Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, PhD, or equivalent degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching and research training of medical students, graduate students, residents, medical fellows in pediatric hematology/oncology or related disciplines, and post-doctoral fellows.

Clinical responsibilities for candidates who are physician scientists may include serving as attending physician on the dedicated solid tumor inpatient service and providing outpatient care to children, adolescents and young adults with sarcomas and other extracranial solid tumors. 

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include directing an independent NIH-funded research program focused on basic and translational research in pediatric sarcomas. Candidates should have a track record of successful extramural funding.
