Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) - School of Nursing: BSN (26-27)
Position Description
The School of Nursing in the College of Science and Health at DePaul University invites applications for a full time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued development, growth, and evaluation of the BSN program through excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and student-centered academic leadership.
This position supports the School of Nursing’s strategic priorities related to program quality, student success, licensure readiness, inclusive excellence, simulation and technology integration, accreditation readiness, community engagement, and faculty scholarship. The faculty member will teach primarily in the BSN program and will contribute to the preparation of undergraduate nursing students for safe, ethical, evidence based, compassionate, and equity centered professional nursing practice.
Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Provide high quality didactic, clinical, and laboratory instruction primarily in the BSN program, with attention to clinical judgment, safe nursing practice, inclusive teaching, and student progression toward licensure readiness.
- Engage in course development, course revision, syllabus preparation, instructional design, competency-based teaching strategies, assessment of student learning outcomes, and use of educational technologies that support student success.
- Contribute to BSN program quality through participation in accreditation related activities, systematic evaluation, course assessment, program assessment, and continuous quality improvement processes.
- Support student success initiatives, including progression support, remediation, clinical judgment development, NCLEX readiness, and evaluation of learning outcomes.
- Serve as lead faculty for assigned courses as appropriate and provide mentorship, guidance, and support to adjunct faculty teaching within the BSN program.
- Develop and maintain a focused, sustainable program of scholarship appropriate to a tenure track appointment, including peer reviewed dissemination, presentations, and pursuit of internal or external funding as appropriate.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate nursing students in support of academic progression, professional formation, belonging, and preparation for nursing practice.
- Serve on School, College, and University committees and contribute to shared governance, strategic initiatives, and the ongoing advancement of the School of Nursing.
- Demonstrate leadership within the School of Nursing, College of Science and Health, University, profession, and community through teaching, scholarship, service, and engagement.
