  • Lead a team of instructional designers and staff, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Report regularly to the provost on progress and outcomes related to faculty development and engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee the faculty course survey process, ensuring results are used to support reflective teaching practice, continuous improvement, and faculty development.

Faculty Support, Engagement, & Community Building

  • Collaborate with faculty and academic units to assess instructional needs and develop responsive programs, professional development resources, and learning communities that enhance teaching, learning, and student success.
  • Lead evidence-based teaching initiatives and cohort-specific programming, providing guidance on course design, instructional strategies, assessment, and the integration of educational technologies.
  • Foster inclusive, collaborative faculty environments through dialogue, co-sponsored events, and support for disciplinary teaching initiatives.
  • Oversee college-wide assessment of student learning to inform faculty development and instructional effectiveness.

Faculty Mentoring and Leadership Development

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive mentoring program to support faculty at all career stages, including cross-disciplinary initiatives that foster supportive faculty networks.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement programs that cultivate faculty leadership skills for governance, department roles, and broader academic responsibilities.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in Academic Affairs and IT to build faculty and staff capacity in the use of generative AI for teaching and learning, with an emphasis on AI literacy and ethical use.
  • Engage with national and international organizations focusing on teaching excellence and faculty development.
  • Collaborate with schools, departments, and campus partners to identify programming needs that enhance teaching excellence, student success, and faculty engagement.
  • Work with student success, the center for career and professional development, the learning commons, and sponsored research colleagues to support institutional priorities.
