The Role

The appointees will administer external and internal funding/fellowship/award schemes, research ethics and integrity, organisation of research-related events, and other duties as assigned by the Section Head. 

Qualifications and Qualities

Applicants should have a good University degree with at least 10 years’ working experience in the higher education sector, of which at least 5 years should be at the supervisory or management level. They should have extensive knowledge regarding the administration of research funding schemes and research ethics and integrity, committee servicing and organisation of events. They should also have excellent communication skills, inclusive of good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; IT competency; a strong sense of responsibility; be mature and meticulous, self-motivated, and a good team player with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills; be able to work on their own initiative; and the ability to work under pressure under tight deadlines and setting priorities with minimal supervision. 

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for two years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits, Housing benefits will be provided as applicable for the Assistant Registrar rank. Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment as Administrative Assistant I.
