Assistant Residence Hall Director - Residential Life
Job Description
The Assistant Residence Hall Director (ARD) is responsible for assisting in the operations of a residential quad consisting of approximately 1,200 residents. The ARD actively supports the Department's mission by making the quad an inviting, intellectual, and inclusive community. The ARD supports all facets of the quad's housing including community development programming, staff development, administrative responsibilities, adjudicating violations of the Community Rights and Responsibilities, and providing front-end office support. The ARD supervises work-study students. The ARD serves in a weekly on-duty rotation and the departmental recess duty rotation.
This is a live-in position and the incumbent must reside in their assigned on-campus apartment designated by the Department of Residential Life. This is a ten-month college year position and obligation dates are provided to staff based on the academic calendar.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the Quad Information Center front-end operations within Residential Community.
- Serve on call and on duty on a weekly basis to respond to all emergencies, mental health, and enforce University policies. Live-in professional staff responsible for all emergencies.
- Support staff development, programming, and administrative functions of the quad or residential community.
- Student conduct adjudication.
- support key departmental functions including opening, closing, staff hiring and training, housing selection, and attending designated quad or departmental events.

Complete performance management feedback and goals timely and per requirements, offering constructive feedback and developing improvement plans.
- Attend quad, residential community, department, divisional, and/or university meetings, events, and trainings.
- Attend and represent Residential Life at enrollment-focused events, which may occur on nights and weekends.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
