Offer Description
West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin invites applications for one part-time Assistant position in the research and teaching staff group at the Department of Organic and Physical Chemistry, Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering. The research discipline is Chemistry (Chemical Sciences). The proposed employment period is 1 November 2026 to 30 October 2027.
Duties include: conducting assigned classes for first- and second-cycle full-time and part-time degree programmes, in accordance with the teaching workload and courses assigned by the academic unit, while ensuring a high standard of teaching; conducting research and development activities in the discipline of chemical sciences and disseminating the results, particularly through the publication of research articles and active participation in scientific conferences; applying for research grants and scientific internships; participating in projects and scientific collaboration; and performing departmental and faculty duties.

Skills/Qualifications
Candidates should meet the requirements of Articles 113 and 116 of the Polish Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 and the Statute of West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin. Required qualifications and experience:
- A Master of Science in Engineering degree in Chemical Technology, Chemistry or a related field.
- Authorship or co-authorship of at least two scientific publications related to organic chemistry, indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) database.
- Research experience, including laboratory work, in organic chemistry, with particular emphasis on proficiency in handling organometallic compounds (Schlenk technique, glovebox) and other organic synthesis methods.
- Knowledge of advanced laboratory and instrumental methods used in scientific research, including NMR spectroscopy (1D and 2D techniques, CP-MAS NMR, multinuclear analysis), ATR-FTIR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, GC-MS, GC-FID, HPLC, preparative flash chromatography, and polarimetry.
- Documented experience in domestic and/or international research projects or in securing external research funding.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CorelDRAW, ChemDraw, MestReNova, and TopSpin.
- Documented teaching experience, demonstrated through conducting or co-conducting academic classes.
- Good command of spoken and written English, sufficient for using specialist literature and scientific communication, and fluent spoken and written Polish.
