Position Summary: This position involves the coordination and implementation of all classroom activities according to the standards of NAEYC, DECAL, and the Child Development Lab. This position also works in conjunction with other staff members and under the direction of the Lead Teacher.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies: Previous experience working with children ages birth to 5 years.

Physical Demands: Bending, lifting, squatting, and other activities associated with interacting with young children.

Duties/Responsibilities: The assistant teacher is responsible for aiding the lead teacher in the classroom throughout all daily activities and interactions with children. On-going supervision of children is required. (70%)

Duties/Responsibilities: Implementation of planned activities, maintaining a safe environment, and supervision. (10%)

Duties/Responsibilities: Daily assistance in food service to children and supervision during meal times. (10%)

Duties/Responsibilities: Daily assistance with diapering and/or toilet training while maintaining adequate supervision during bathroom times. (10%)
