Job Description
80% Teaching
Teach undergraduate or graduate level courses on various topics in personal and household finance, personal financial planning, insurance, economics, finance and/or foundations of business. Potential course assignments for this position include FIN 330 Introduction to Financial Planning and Retirement and FIN 430 Financial Planning Capstone within the Bicknell Certificate in Personal Finance, although other course assignments are expected as the program expands. Duties include, but are not limited to, instruction in the area of finance, course preparation, consultatio n, and assignment of course grades. Courses may be taught in online or on-campus formats, including at the Lawrence and/or Leavenworth campuses. The typical course load for this appointment is eight courses per academic year. Course load and teaching assignments will be determined by the F inance Area Director to best meet the needs of the School of Business. All faculty members are expected to abide by area, school, and university policies and procedures.
20% Service
Engage in service both within and outside the school and university, including professional and scholarly engagement activities that support instruction and student development. Participate as an active member of the area and engage in instruction-related activities beyond direct instruction. All faculty members are expected to fulfill their share of service duties needed to facilitate the efficient operation of the school. May perform additional position-related activities as assigned by the Dean or Area Director.
