Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences

The Department of Biological Sciences invites applications from academically qualified and professionally experienced individuals for non-tenure track, 12-month, Assistant Teaching Professors in the areas of General Biology, Ecology, Microbiology, Genetics, Bioinformatics or Cell Biology. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences or related field. Experience teaching active learning courses and a demonstrated ability to provide an engaging and enriching learning experience for students is preferred. The Department of Biological Sciences is committed to developing novel learning activities that will prepare students for success in a fast-paced global environment. General Biology, Ecology, Microbiology, Genetics, Bioinformatics and Cell Biology are high enrollment, high demand courses.  Teaching in other undergraduate upper and lower division courses may also be expected, depending on specialization and departmental needs. Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the department’s service mission through participation in departmental committees, as well as other service activities appropriate to their rank and interests.  Anticipated start date will be Fall 2027.
