Primary Responsibilities:
Position Overview: Sul Ross State University, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Lone Star Conference, seeks a motivated and committed Assistant Volleyball Coach to support the development and success of its volleyball program. The Assistant Coach plays a key role in recruiting, training, academic monitoring, and day-to-day team operations.
Function: Assist in coaching volleyball, schedule games, practice and conditioning.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Coach in all aspects of coaching. This includes planning practices, game strategies, and player development.
- Assist with identifying and recruiting prospective student-athletes who align with the college’s academic and athletic standards.
- Maintain a strong understanding of NCAA Division II rules and ensure program compliance.
- Monitor academic progress of student-athletes and support their overall development.
- Assist with travel arrangements, game film breakdown, stat analysis, and equipment management.
- Serve as a role model for student-athletes in behavior, sportsmanship, and leadership.
- Represent the volleyball program at department functions, community outreach, fundraising, and camps.
