General description:
- scientific research work and professional work in research,
- professional cooperation with clients commissioning research tasks,
- preparation of written reports, studies and expert opinions,
- participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching,
- preparation of proposals for purchasing research equipment, maintenance of equipment and procurement of consumables,
- performing tasks within own field as instructed by the head of the organisational unit and other related duties within the broader professional scope of the position.
Detailed description:
- The researcher will develop and apply advanced methods for microclimate modelling, hygrothermal analysis, and building envelope assessment, with the aim of evaluating the impacts of environmental factors on the built environment and cultural heritage. The role will involve conducting computer-aided simulations, developing software tools, programming, and managing and analysing data through database systems. The researcher will contribute to the investigation and optimisation of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as to the development of methods for improving the energy, environmental, and operational performance of buildings. Particular emphasis will be placed on sustainable approaches, assessment of indoor environmental quality, compliance with relevant standards, and understanding the interactions between microclimate, building materials, occupants, and the environment.
- In addition to development and analytical activities, the researcher will conduct research in the fields of environmental performance, sustainable management of the built environment, and heritage science, integrating experimental measurements, simulation-based approaches, and data analysis. The researcher will contribute to the development of innovative methodologies for assessing the condition, performance, and long-term preservation of buildings and cultural heritage under changing environmental conditions.
Beyond scientific and innovation-related activities, the researcher will also be responsible for:
- Actively contributing to the development of operational tools, methodological guidelines, and recommendations for the sustainable management of cultural heritage, as well as validating their applicability through pilot case studies.
- Disseminating research results through scientific publications, professional papers, project reports, methodological handbooks, and recommendations for policymakers and stakeholders.
- Communicating research findings to the public and the media.
- Presenting research outcomes at national and international scientific conferences, professional meetings, workshops, and roundtable discussions.
- Performing organisational, coordination, and professional tasks required within the framework of the GreenHer CoE, and facilitating collaboration between CoE units and the Central Office.
- Carrying out other duties and responsibilities within the broader scope of the Centre’s activities, as assigned by the Head of the GreenHer CoE.

Requirements for the position:
- Required qualifications (degree level and field) for the position:
- PhD in a relevant field (pre-Bologna system) or a third-cycle Bologna PhD (doctoral degree) in a relevant field.
- Required academic title (habilitation title and field):
- Valid academic title of Research Assistant or Assistant. If the candidate does not yet hold a valid title, they must obtain it within four months of commencing employment.
- Professional proficiency in English
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Published work related to the field of activity (documented scientific research and/or research and development work).
- Presentations at international professional or scientific conferences.
- Successful research work demonstrating the ability to independently lead smaller-scale projects.
- Knowledge of microclimate modelling, hygrothermal analysis, and building envelope analysis.
- Knowledge of computer-aided simulations, programming, and database management.
- Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Knowledge of environmental performance, sustainability, and relevant standards.
- Understanding of cultural heritage.
