Salary: base salary is determined by placement in the initial 31st salary grade (amounting to EUR 3,070.93 gross, while considering the gradual elimination of pay disparities until 2028).

General description:
- scientific research work and professional work in research,
- professional cooperation with clients commissioning research tasks,
- preparation of written reports, studies and expert opinions,
- participation in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching,
- preparation of proposals for purchasing research equipment, maintenance of equipment and procurement of consumables,
- performing tasks within own field as instructed by the head of the organisational unit and other related duties within the broader professional scope of the position.
Detailed description:
- Independently conduct research and development activities in the fields of building energy efficiency, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, sustainable construction, and life cycle assessment (LCA).
- Develop, apply, and validate methods for numerical modelling, computer simulations, and the evaluation of the energy, environmental, and functional performance of buildings and their technical systems.
- Perform life cycle assessments (LCA), carbon footprint analyses, and evaluations of the environmental impacts of products and processes, and prepare technical bases and recommendations for sustainable design and decision-making.
- Conduct research on microclimate modelling, the hygrothermal performance of building envelopes, indoor environmental quality, and the interaction between building envelopes and HVAC systems.
- Prepare expert opinions, technical assessments, and reports within the relevant field of expertise.
- Carry out activities related to the assessment and verification of the compliance and environmental performance of construction products.
- Prepare project proposals, secure national and international research and innovation projects, and lead or contribute to their implementation and management.
- Actively contribute to the development of operational tools, methodological guidelines, and recommendations for the sustainable management of cultural heritage, and support their validation through pilot case studies.
- Disseminate research results through scientific publications, professional papers, project reports, methodological handbooks, and recommendations for policymakers and stakeholders.
- Communicate research findings to the public and the media.
- Present research outcomes at national and international scientific conferences, professional meetings, workshops, and roundtable discussions.
- Perform organisational, coordination, and professional tasks required within the framework of the GreenHer CoE, and facilitate collaboration between CoE units and the Central Office.
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities within the broader scope of the Centre’s activities, as assigned by the Head of the GreenHer CoE.

Requirements for the position:
- Required qualifications (degree level and field) for the position:
- A PhD in a relevant field (pre-Bologna system) or a third-cycle Bologna PhD (doctoral degree) in a relevant discipline, such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, building physics, energy engineering, environmental engineering, or another related technical field.
- Required academic title (habilitation title and field):
- Valid academic title of Research Assistant or Assistant. If the candidate does not yet hold a valid title, this requirement must be fulfilled within four months of the commencement of employment.
- Professional proficiency in English
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate:
- Experience in research and development projects.
- Experience in the leadership and management of research activities.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in public speaking and presenting research results at conferences.
- Experience in preparing and writing project proposals.
