Job DescriptionOverview
We seek an enthusiastic candidate who is committed to teaching excellence, actively engaging undergraduate and professional students, and collaboration within the University community to ensure a positive overall student experience. This faculty member will have strong foundational knowledge and training in the public health discipline and will deliver One Health-themed educational content consisting of coordinating up to four courses per semester. The successful candidate in this position will assume teaching responsibilities to include, but may not be limited to instruction of: 1) preventive medicine, food safety, zoonotic disease, disaster management and other aspects of public health to pre-clinical veterinary professional students; and 2) introductory and advanced undergraduate public health courses in chronic and infectious diseases, social and behavioral health, environmental health, epidemiology, policy, and health systems.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate in this 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position will be responsible for instruction of: 1) preventive medicine, food safety, zoonotic disease, disaster management and other aspects of public health to pre-clinical veterinary professional students; 2) introductory and advanced undergraduate public health courses in chronic and infectious diseases, social and behavioral health, environmental health, epidemiology, policy, and health systems. The individual will also be expected to contribute to advancement of scholarship in public and one health domains.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications include an MPH degree (or equivalent) or an advanced degree (i.e. MS, DrPH, or PhD) in a closely related public health or preventive medicine discipline as well as a DVM (or equivalent) at the time the appointment begins. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
Desired Qualifications include a specific interest in the One Health concept and/or experience working on One Health issues, excellence in didactic classroom or group instruction, exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills, commitment to collaboration, professional development, and pursuit of opportunities designed to enhance the undergraduate student learning experience, current or recent employment in a public or population health field, and/or specific board certifications relating to public health and/or preventive medicine such as American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (ACVPM) or Certified in Public Health (CPH).
