Associate Archivist
Boston College Libraries are seeking two full-time, permanent Associate archivists to support and manage the growth of the Catholic Religious Archives. Established in 2019, the program's mission is to collect, preserve, and provide access to the archival records of Catholic religious congregations worldwide, that are either coming to completion or needing support to maintain their documentary heritage. The archivists will report to the Director of the Catholic Religious Archives.
The archivists will be responsible for accessioning and processing archival collections using an instance of the Libraries' archives management system (ArchivesSpace). In addition, the CRA Archivists will supervise in-person use of the collections by researchers in a reading room environment, and will also respond to reference questions, fulfill scanning requests, and provide other remote reference services. These are in-person positions that report to the Head, Catholic Religious Archives.

Associate Archivist pay range $62,350 - $77,950; 1-3 years experience, TBD based on experience.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science, plus 1-2 years of relevant experience;
- The ability to engage with research across a variety of disciplines and a range of audiences, from undergraduate and graduate students to faculty, instructors, and staff;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- Work experience in Catholic archival collections.
- Experience preserving both born-digital and digitized archival materials, and/or transferring analog media to a digital format;
- Experience or coursework pertaining to archival and library preservation and conservation practices;
- Degree or coursework pertaining to Catholic theology, history, or spirituality;
- Proficiency in Latin, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian or another language.
