The University of Cambridge is seeking an ambitious and strategically minded fundraiser to secure transformational philanthropic investment for the Department of Computer Science and Technology. This is an opportunity to work with internationally recognised academics, influential supporters and one of the strongest advancement environments in higher education.

The Department of Computer Science and Technology is internationally respected for the breadth and impact of its work across artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, human-computer interaction and data science.

This is one of the most exciting fundraising portfolios within the University, combining world-leading research, highly engaged academic partners and significant philanthropic potential. You will lead major gift strategies, securing six- and seven-figure support from individuals, trusts, foundations and corporate partners in the UK and internationally.

The funding you secure will support priorities including academic posts, student support, facilities and globally significant research initiatives. Your work will help translate exceptional research into real-world impact.

What you'll do

  • Develop and deliver ambitious fundraising strategies aligned with departmental and University priorities
  • Build relationships with major donors, trusts, foundations and corporate supporters
  • Lead the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of significant philanthropic gifts
  • Work closely with senior academics and University leadership to shape compelling funding opportunities
  • Develop persuasive proposals and cases for support
  • Contribute to broader University fundraising initiatives across the collegiate University
