Job Summary

Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation. Reports to the Director, Network and User Services. Supervises Systems Administrators, Automation Developers, Solution Center and Network Telecommunications staff.

Qualifications - Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field is required.
Technical certification ( CISSP, Security+) strongly preferred.

Qualifications - Experience

Job Experience: · Minimum six (6) years in network and system administration, including technologies such as Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, Server Virtualization, and Active Directory.

Qualifications - Skills

a. Expertise in Microsoft, VMware, and Linux operating systems.
b. Demonstrated experience maintaining a hybrid cloud infrastructure.
c. Strong knowledge of networking infrastructure with a background managing Cisco switching and wireless hardware being strongly preferred.
d. Experience with automation tools and various scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash.
e. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
f. Ability to plan and manage complex technical implementations.
g. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and climb small ladders to maintain equipment as required.
h. This position is an essential position. Individuals in essential positions can be required to report to campus during an emergency when travel is limited to essential employees only. An essential employee verification card is issued to incumbents in this position for that purpose.
