Associate Lecturer in Planetary Geophysics
The School of Natural Sciences at Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a part-time, fixed-term Associate Lecturer to teach the Planetary Geophysics module (Level 5). This involves 60 hours of teaching on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6-9pm in the Spring term 2026.
The module includes taught lectures on aspects of geophysics and practical sessions using MATLAB to apply methods such as seismology, gravity, magnetics, and electrical and electromagnetic methods.
Candidates must have knowledge and experience in geophysical methods and MATLAB. Excellent teaching skills and a track record of student engagement are required.
Remuneration: £69.68 per hour, inclusive of preparation, teaching, administration, and other duties.
Contract: Fixed-term from January to March 2026. Submit a CV and statement for consideration.
