About The Team

This position is within the School of Agricultural Sciences (College of Environmental and Life Sciences). Collaboration with relevant research Centres withing Murdoch, with other research institutions and industry is strongly encouraged, with collaboration an important enabler of School and University strategic plans.

Your New Role!

As an Academic staff member in the School of Agricultural Science, you will contribute to teaching and associated administrative and service functions within the College and across the University, while also engaging in professional activities relevant to your discipline.

This position will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate work integrated learning programs in the field of agricultural science, animal health and biosecurity.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Contributions to teaching, including coordination, curriculum design, delivery, assessment, fieldwork, curriculum review, and use of innovative teaching methods

Develop work integrated learning programs that for undergraduate and postgraduate students

Engage with industry and external stakeholders to build strategic partnerships

Supervise and advise students across undergraduate, honours, postgraduate, and HDR levels

Actively contribute to in School and University service activities, engage with the profession and discipline, and undertake administrative duties as required

What We Offer You!

Part-time (0.3 FTE) 3-year teaching academic teaching contract

Associate Lecturer (Level A) $79K - $107K (pro rata) plus leave loading and 17% employer superannuation

Lecturer (Level B) $113K – $134K (pro rata) plus leave loading and 17% employer superannuation

What you’ll bring to the role:

Hold a PhD in a relevant discipline

Experience teaching at undergraduate level, including supervision of students

A broad knowledge of Australian agricultural production systems

Experience engaging with agricultural industry and government organisations

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Demonstrate initiative, work effectively under broad direction, and collaborate successfully within diverse teams
