About the Role:
Flinders University’s College of Science and Engineering is seeking a motivated academic to join our team as an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Critical Technologies). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to teaching and research that supports critical technologies in the national interest, including areas aligned with defence, security, and emerging engineering capability. You will contribute to the education of future-ready engineering graduates while developing a strong research profile aligned with the College’s areas of strength.
In this position, you will:
- Plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality teaching, curriculum develop, topic coordination and accreditation across electrical and electronic engineering topics using contemporary, multi-mode teaching approaches.
- Undertake ethical, high-quality research aligned with critical technologies, including quality publications and external grant activity.
- Supervise honours and higher degree research students (commensurate with career stage).
- Actively participate in internal and external quality assurance and accreditation processes.
This position is open to interstate candidates and relocation support is available.
About You:
You are an emerging or established academic with expertise in electrical and electronic engineering and a strong interest in contributing to nationally significant technology areas. You are student-focused, research-active and able to work collaboratively across disciplines and with external stakeholders.
You will also demonstrate:
- Completion of a PhD, or equivalent qualification, in electrical and electronic engineering.
- Evidence of, or capacity to deliver, high-quality tertiary teaching across engineering areas relevant to critical technologies.
- A developing (Level A) or established (Level B) research track record appropriate to career stage, including quality publications and competitive grant activity.
- Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain Australian Government security clearance at NV1 level or higher.

Prescribed Conditions for Employment
- A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check which is satisfactory to the University will be required by Flinders University before the successful applicant can commence in this position. A criminal record will not automatically disqualify a candidate from consideration. Each case will be assessed on its individual merits and relevance to the inherent requirements of the role.
- This position may require the successful applicant to hold (or be eligible to obtain) an NV1 (Negative Vetting Level 1) Security Clearance
