  • Remuneration: $96,342 to $130,727 pa (LEVA) (inclusive of $81,410 to $110,466 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading); OR $137,608 to $163,427 pa (LEVB) (inclusive of $116,280 to $138,097 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Gardens Point (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer in Civil Engineering to join School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at QUT has an exciting position for an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer in Civil Engineering who is able to provide leadership in both research and teaching. The Associate Lecturer/Lecturer will be working as part of an interdisciplinary team of academics, research fellows, graduate students and industry partners. The role will require participation in fundamental and applied research, including fellowship submissions, grant funding submissions and publications.

What you need to succeed

  1. Completion of a doctoral qualification with experience in civil engineering or a closely related field of engineering.
  2. Demonstrated ability in teaching and learning, including scholarly and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. Ability to teach into our civil engineering undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
  3. Interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to develop internal and external partnerships that extend best practice and realise opportunities for teaching and research.
  4. Proven ability to contribute to a high performance and collaborative culture.
  5. Demonstrated research leadership in the field of civil engineering, including a track record of successfully obtaining grants, publishing in high-quality journals and top-tier conferences, and engaging with industry.
  6. Demonstrated strategic approach, as well as the ability to be adaptive and future-focused to deliver real impact.
