Job Synopsis
The Department of Computer Science & Information Systems at the University of Limerick (UL) is seeking an outstanding candidate for a permanent Associate Professor position in Quantum Computing.
The department offers a dynamic and collegial environment with excellence in research, teaching, and societal impact. Its research profile spans computer science, software engineering, programming languages, artificial intelligence, and data science, with leadership demonstrated through national and international competitive funding and engagement with large-scale research centres such as Lero – the SFI Research Centre for Software and the Immersive Software Engineering (ISE) initiative.
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate excellence in Quantum Computing, with interests that may include:
- Quantum algorithms
- Quantum information science
- Quantum programming
- Intersection of quantum and classical computation
- Teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Supervise research students
- Undertake administrative tasks associated with an academic position
- Conduct internationally excellent research
