The Department is now inviting applications for the position of: Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (23240392)

The appointee will be expected to conduct independent, high-quality research, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, and demonstrate research achievements of originality and depth. The ideal candidate will have the potential to become a leading international scholar and contribute to impactful research and innovative technological applications.

Expertise in chemical and/or environmental engineering is highly desirable, as it will complement the department’s existing strengths in related research and pedagogical areas. Candidates with proven potential for impactful translational research are especially encouraged to apply.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. They must have relevant postdoctoral research experience, an excellent track record of publications in high-impact peer-reviewed international journals (as first and/or senior author), and a strong history of securing external research funding through competitive grants.

The appointee will also supervise MPhil and PhD students, develop a vigorous research program at the forefront of basic and translational chemical / environmental engineering, and engage in broader scholarly activities such as organising academic conferences, symposia, and seminars.

The appointment will be offered on a tenure track. The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of up to three years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
