The Role
We are seeking an experienced and committed clinician to lead the Clinical Assessment Portfolio across the four years of our Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior medical educator to shape the teaching and assessment of clinical skills for future doctors, working alongside a dedicated academic and professional team. The successful applicant will be appointed at the level of Associate Professor (0.2 FTE).
The Macquarie Medical School within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences (FMHHS) is seeking ONE part-time (0.2 FTE) medical academic (Teaching & Leadership Job Family) to lead the Clinical Skills Portfolio across Years 1–4 of the MD program.
Some of your key responsibilities will be:
- Provide academic leadership for the design, delivery, and quality assurance of clinical skills teaching across Years 1–4 of the MD program.
- Oversee the development and integration of clinical skills curriculum, ensuring alignment with program learning outcomes, professional competencies, and accreditation standards.
- Lead the design and implementation of clinical skills assessments, including OSCEs and workplace-based assessments.
- Support and mentor clinical tutors and supervisors involved in the delivery of clinical skills teaching.
- Contribute to program governance, curriculum review, and continuous improvement.
- Engage with relevant hospital, community, and health service partners to strengthen clinical education.

You will be an accomplished clinician with a strong track record in medical education.
The successful candidate will bring:
Essential Criteria
- A current medical registration with AHPRA and fellowship of a relevant medical college.
- Significant experience in clinical practice and supervision of medical students.
- Demonstrated leadership in medical education, particularly in clinical skills teaching and assessment.
- Evidence of curriculum development and quality improvement in medical education.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Working or willing to work in Macquarie University Health campus as a clinician.
- A postgraduate qualification in medical education.
Desirable Criteria
- Prior experience in program-level leadership or academic governance.
- Experience in scholarly work, research, or publications in medical education.
- Familiarity with accreditation requirements for medical programs in Australia.
