"Associate Professor of Constitutional Law"

Job Summary: The position involves combining teaching, research, and leadership in the field of constitutional law, particularly focusing on fundamental rights and political or institutional constitutional law at Utrecht University.

Responsibilities:

• Provide teaching at bachelor and master levels, including courses in Introduction to Constitutional and Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, and elective courses.
• Conduct research aligned with programs such as the Montaigne Centre for Rule of Law and Administration of Justice or other departmental programs.
• Secure external research funding and supervise PhD candidates.
• Perform management tasks, including leading staff, coordinating courses, and contributing to departmental committees to foster collaboration and a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Hold a PhD with expertise in constitutional law, especially fundamental rights and/or political and institutional aspects.
• Possess a Basic Teaching Qualification and be willing to obtain Senior Teaching and Senior Research Qualifications.
• Demonstrate experience in research, publishing, integrating research into teaching, and achieving societal impact.
• Be proficient in Dutch and English at C1 level (CEFR) or willing to achieve it quickly.
• Show ability to work collaboratively, handle coordination, and contribute to an inclusive team environment.

What the Employer Offers:
