The Department of Pharmacy and The Comparative Health Outcomes, Policy, and Economics (CHOICE) Institute at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy invite applications for a 100% FTE, 12-month service period, faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor without tenure (WOT). This position will specialize in one of the following priority areas: theoretical and/or applied health economics with a focus on aging and associated pharmacoepidemiology.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Develop and maintain an externally funded, independent research/scholarship program, resulting in peer-reviewed publications and other scientific communications
- Engage in research, teaching, mentorship, and service, and develop a teaching portfolio that enhances the Department's teaching mission, including classroom instruction at the PharmD, graduate, and undergraduate level.
- Support the Department and School's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as contribute to the larger service mission of the School of Pharmacy and the UW.
- Support the training mission facilitated by a new Health Sciences Education Building, a state-of-the-art interprofessional space for training future health professionals.

- Record of peer-reviewed publications and related scholarly activity in their focus area.
- A well-developed independent research program and success in obtaining extramural funding for health economics research.
- A passion for education and demonstrated experience and capacity for working in a collaborative and multidisciplinary setting.

The Department of Pharmacy is a leader in pharmacy education, research, and professional and outreach initiatives. Its faculty conduct pioneering research in numerous areas and educate the next generation of leaders in pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical sciences. The department consists of 50 faculty with over 1200 adjunct, affiliate, and clinical faculty with nationally and internationally recognized clinical and research experts.
The CHOICE Institute is a global leader in generating knowledge to improve individual and population health through transformative learning, research, and dissemination about the effectiveness, safety, and value of medical products, services, and policies. The Institute consists of 15 faculty members based in the School of Pharmacy, 7 Adjunct faculty, and 20 Affiliate faculty with training and expertise in health economics, pharmacoepidemiology, outcomes research, biostatistics, and policy. Our graduate program includes approximately 15 PhD and 8 MS students and is focused on health economics, outcomes research, pharmacoepidemiology, and policy analysis.

The successful candidate will join a cadre of other active and collaborative internationally recognized health economics and outcomes research scholars and educators
The base salary range for this position at the rank of Associate Professor will be $11,336 - $13,780 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may include a moving allowance.
Qualifications
- Ph.D (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated expertise in one of the department priority areas noted above. This expertise may be gained through residency, fellowship, other postgraduate training, or sustained research productivity and publication record.
