Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

The School of Data Science and Analytics (SDSA) is recognized for its interdisciplinary education and research, offering a full spectrum of programs from undergraduate to PhD levels. With faculty leading pioneering research that drives innovation in data science, analytics, and applied statistics, SDSA addresses critical business and societal challenges through robust internal and external partnerships. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track, Associate Professor or Full Professor of Data Science and Analytics and Associate School Director in the School of Data Science and Analytics with a preferred start date of January 2026. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Teach a range of graduate and undergraduate courses in data science, analytics, and/or applied statistics, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement in teaching through scholarly approaches and leading curricular development in these areas.
- Maintain an active and productive individual research agenda, including establishing and sustaining a defined research program, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and seeking and securing external grant funding.
- Lead the School's research development efforts, including mentoring junior faculty in research and growing the School's research profile.
- Foster research collaborations with internal units and external institutions.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities with federal, state, local and industry stakeholders, and promote funding-seeking activities within the School.
- Mentor undergraduate and/or graduate students in research.
- Provide service to the School, College, University, and professional community.
- Substitute for the School Director as needed.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the School Director.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- A Ph.D. degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, Statistics, Biostatics, or a related discipline, is required at the time of hire.
- A well-established research record including a history of substantial external funding.
- A proven record in teaching and student supervision.
- Have been promoted to a minimum of an Associate Professor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior success in obtaining extramural funding as the leading investigator.
