Associate Professor or Professor in Ecological Modelling
The Department of Biosciences at Durham University seeks to appoint an outstanding candidate to the role of Associate Professor or Professor in the broad field of ecological modelling. This post is funded by Durham University's strategic Heritage360 initiative, which aims to bring together research on natural and cultural history and heritage.
Heritage360 is a new research platform funded through Durham University's Strategic Research Fund, dedicated to holistic approaches to heritage, particularly drawing together research on natural and cultural heritage. It will have senior posts in six academic departments including Biosciences. Applicants with expertise in ecological modelling across historical and future timescales are encouraged. Successful postholders will be based in the Biosciences department and focused primarily on research for four years.
The Department of Biosciences is ranked in the top 4 UK Biology Departments and holds an Athena SWAN Silver award. We welcome applications from under-represented groups.
Successful candidates will provide leadership across disciplines, enhance excellence in heritage and ecological research, and have a track record in external grant capture. They must commit to the transdisciplinary Heritage360 environment while meeting the specifications for an Associate or Full Professor in Biosciences.
