Associate Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly qualified and accomplished Associate Research Scientist whose research qualifications and contributions are equivalent to those of an Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD and possess a strong academic background and extensive postdoctoral research experience, demonstrating a proven track record of significant contributions to the fields of biotechnology, bioresource sciences, or related disciplines.

The Associate Research Scientist will be conducting independent and collaborative research focused on areas such as the development of novel chemical pathways for producing sustainable energy carriers such as H2, recovery of critical materials, and specialty chemicals (e.g. acids, bases, salts) from complex heterogeneous resources. Economic and environmental assessment of novel processes will be conducted. Responsible management and use of lab resources is expected. Compliance with the expectations of the sponsor and prior approval associated with dissemination of research findings is expected.

Qualifications

• Design and execute experiments, collect and analyze data, and interpret results.
• Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary research projects and grant proposals.
• Proficiency in rigorous analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, and process chemistry is expected.
• Training and mentoring of students and peers is expected.
