Associate Vice President (AVP) for Enrollment Services, Student Success Services
Position Summary
The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Enrollment Services reports to the Vice President of Student Success Services and provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and data-driven direction for student success initiatives. This role is responsible for advancing student outcomes by integrating analytics, fiscal stewardship, and innovative technology solutions, including enterprise student success platforms and CRM systems.
The AVP for Enrollment Services works collaboratively across student success departments to design, implement, and scale systems, processes, and interventions that improve student retention, completion, and post-graduation success—aligning with the institution’s strategic plan and student success agenda.
Required Education/Experience
- Master’s degree in higher education administration, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience in enrollment services, student success, or a related area within higher education.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and implementing strategies that improve student retention, completion, and post-completion outcomes.
- Experience with budget development, resource allocation, and fiscal oversight.
- Proven ability to use data and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
- Doctorate (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) in higher education leadership, community college leadership, organizational leadership, or a closely related field strongly preferred.
- Experience in a comprehensive community college setting.
- Advanced training or certification in enrollment management, student success strategies, change management, and the use of enterprise student success technologies.
Work Hours
This position is primarily in-person with expectations for a regular on-campus presence to support student-facing operations and team leadership. Rotating between Salisbury and Concord locations as needed. One day per week, remote or hybrid flexibility is available, aligned with institutional policy and divisional needs.
Duty and Responsibility: Operational Leadership & Departmental Oversight
- Provide direct oversight for key student success departments, including student records, admissions, program admissions, customer service/one-stop center, assessment, and credit for prior learning centers, and adult learner engagement.
- Promote collaboration among departments to reduce silos and improve the student experience.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement grounded in evidence-based practices and student-centered design.
- Serve as a senior leader and representative for the Vice President on cross-divisional committees, including chair of the enrollment management committee.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) set by the Vice President.
Duty and Responsibility: Technology & Strategic Analytics
- Lead the strategic implementation, optimization, and scaling of CRM and an AI-enhanced student success technologies (e.g., EAB Navigate, Element451, Banner).
- Oversee training, change management, and ongoing system enhancements to maximize return on investment.
- Ensure effective collaboration and adoption of systems across advising, career services, financial aid, and other student support services.
- Identify opportunities to streamline student-facing processes through automation, communication workflows, and system integration.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure system functionality, data integration, and compliance with privacy standards.
- Ensure consistent use of predictive analytics and early alert systems to support proactive student interventions.
- Partner with institutional research and IT to enhance data governance, reporting accuracy, and accessibility.
