Department Summary
Ohio University invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Vice President for Auxiliaries within the Division of Student Life. Reporting to the Interim Vice President for Student Life, the Associate Vice President provides strategic leadership for an auxiliary portfolio that includes Culinary Services and Housing and Residence Life.
Key Responsibilities:
This senior leader will guide complex, self-supporting operations that play an essential role in the daily experience of students, employees, campus visitors, and community members. The Associate Vice President will establish and communicate departmental goals, implement effective business systems and practices, cultivate an entrepreneurial and customer-focused environment, and promote a culture centered on student success, safety, service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The position also provides strategic direction for long-range capital planning, preventive maintenance, facilities renewal and renovation, security, program development, and evolving product and service offerings. Working closely with professional leadership staff and university partners, the Associate Vice President will identify new business opportunities, establish appropriate service levels, address compliance matters in collaboration with campus partners, and ensure continuity of operations.

Culinary Services
Culinary Services is a $57 million dining, catering, retail, and culinary production enterprise serving Ohio University. The operation includes dining commons, food courts, retail markets, coffee shops, catering venues, a full-service restaurant, food trucks, and an extensive culinary production and distribution network. With more than 70 administrative employees, 188 bargaining-unit staff, and approximately 1,500 student employees, the department requires strategic leadership across financial management, operations, retail, catering, logistics, workforce development, customer experience, and business growth initiatives.
Housing and Residence Life
Housing and Residence Life oversees a $59 million housing and residential education enterprise that supports approximately 8,000 students across 36 residence halls. The department is among the university's largest and most complex operations, employing more than 400 full-time, part-time, graduate, and student staff members.

Position Profile
Responsible for auxiliary functions within Student Affairs, including Housing, Culinary, and Retail operations. Provides strategic direction to enhance operational efficiency, drive revenue growth, and promote financial sustainability.
Level Summary
Responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of complex functional areas or multiple departments. Formulates policies, strategies, and systems that enhance the University's position in the competitive marketplace. Leads large, complex teams, possibly managing multiple layers of managers. Contributes to shaping the long-term strategic vision of the University, ensuring alignment with overarching goals.

Manages entire business units or divisions. Has authority to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, manage performance, discharge, assign duties, reward, and discipline employees.

Physical Requirements
Work is primarily performed in an office and meeting environment. The position will require travel to meetings and events.
Minimum Qualifications
- A master's degree in business administration, higher education administration, hospitality management, finance, public administration, facilities management, or a related field.
