Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an AV Systems Field Technician - Institutional Student Worker on the Gainesville campus. The AV Systems Field Technician primarily assists the AV Engineering team to install audio visual systems in classrooms, conference rooms, and other university spaces. Secondarily, they assist the team with troubleshooting that is escalated from the IT Service Desk and Technical Support Services.

Responsibilities

• Assists AV Field Engineer to install audio visual technology that meet industry best practices.
• Assists AV Support Specialists in regular replacement and upgrade to university AV classrooms technology, including scheduling, inventory, pre-install work, installation, and post-install cleaning / restocking.
• When not assisting with installations, provide AV troubleshooting (escalations from TSS) augmenting AV Support Specialists.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Willing to learn hands on skills like cable termination, rack installation, projector configuration, speaker settings, and all other needed parts to successfully execute an AV installation.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and drive UNG vehicles.

Required Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
