Bartender, Catering

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a world-renowned scientific research facility on Long Island’s North Shore is seeking a Catering Bartender for our Culinary Services team. The Catering Bartender will prepare and serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages to employees and individuals attending meetings, courses, and special events on the campus.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supervise and perform service at the bar and events
• Preparing and serving beverages
• Provide support to the Bar Manager which involves; clientele feedback and product inventory
• Monitor alcohol consumption to control over-indulgence; exercise necessary action to avoid over-consumption
• Responsible for closing service and insuring all receipts are secure
• Responsible for maintaining clean & orderly beverage equipment and storage areas
• Available to work varied hours, dependent on Event schedules, including some weekends, evenings and holidays.

Education: T.I.P.S. training required (or recognized consumption training)

Experience: 2 years of catering and bar experience, Bartending school a plus

Desirable Skills:

• Able to operate & troubleshoot POS system
• Knowledge of Nassau County Sanitation protocol
• MS Office software proficiency: Outlook, Excel & Word
• Operational knowledge of espresso machine and Beer Tap System.
