Basic Sciences Assistant Professor
The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position. We seek a collaborative and accomplished academic investigator with a strong commitment to translational research.
The successful candidate will lead and advance a translational research program focused on the development and application of a nonhuman primate model of inflammation in baboons. This work is central to elucidating the mechanisms of inflammation and its impact on maternal and fetal outcomes.
The Assistant Professor will design and execute innovative research studies, maintain precise and comprehensive scientific records, and ensure full compliance with institutional, ethical, and regulatory requirements. The role requires both independent initiative and active collaboration with multidisciplinary teams spanning basic, translational, and clinical research domains.

Position Information
Position Title: Basic Sciences Assistant Professor
Department/Division/School: Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences/Basic Sciences/University of Maryland School of Medicine
Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000
Qualifications:
- PhD
- At least 2 years in one of the following fields: embryonic development, cardiac development and disease, neural tube development, molecular biology, and epigenetics
- Candidates have an established federal grant portfolio that can be transferred to the University of Maryland
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and innovation within a complex academic medical center
