"Behavioral Health Counselor"

General Description:

The staff clinician/counselor provides direct clinical services to IL Tech students, plans and delivers outreach during low volume periods, and consults with staff, faculty, parents, and community partners. S/he will participate in the overall mission and vision of the Student Health and Wellness Center, Division of Student Affairs and the University.

We are seeking a team-oriented counselor with strong clinical skills ready to meet the increasing severity of college students' mental health needs. Demonstrated experience working with underrepresented student populations, a commitment to social justice, as well as competencies individual and group therapy and crisis management is preferred.

Education & Experience:

The qualified applicant must have a Master's Degree in a relevant field, including counseling, psychology or social work.

Masters degree or higher in a mental health field (psychology, counseling, social work) with a minimum of 3 years of experience in individual and group counseling. Works experience in college counseling or with college-age or graduate school population is preferred.

Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required. Independent problem-solving skills and self-directed work experience required.

Knowledge & Skills:

Microsoft Office

Experience with or the ability to learn an electronic medical record such as PointnClick.
