Job Summary:
The BHWET Program Manager oversees operations of the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) project. Provides direct supervision to BHWET trainees as part of the practicum seminar. Leads the curriculum development committee. Conducts simulation experiences with trainees in the simulation lab. Partners with institutions to create recruitment pipelines. Develops targeted outreach materials for recruiting clinical supervisors. Monitors progress and ensures quality placement experiences within the experiential training sites.
Additional Department Summary:
This position is essential for the successful execution of the Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training (BHWET) program funded by the Health Services Resources Administration (HRSA). The program's core purpose is to increase the number of clinical social workers specializing in behavioral healthcare to serve children, adolescents, and/or young adults. Coordinates and implements the five primary goals of the BHWET project: community partnership development and management; curriculum development and implementation; trainee recruitment, selection, and support; trainee supervision and practicum coordination; and supervisor training and development. Functions as the central operational leader for the grant's core activities, monitors progress, and ensures quality placement experiences within the experiential training sites.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program and four (4) years post-MSW clinical experience, to include two (2) years of experience with integrated behavioral health with children, adolescents, and/or young adults. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Alabama or license-eligible.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to work independently, using sound judgement and solid decision-making skills to resolve problems and to work through barriers that may impact progress. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Attention to detail and strong presentation and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills in virtual, phone, and in-person formats. Ability to interact with faculty, staff, students, and community partners with high professionalism and confidentiality. Proficiency with Zoom, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Teams and the latest features of the Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified (or eligible to be certified) as a Social Work Supervisor in the State of Alabama.
