QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a master’s degree (doctoral degree preferred) in bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, or a related field with three years of bioinformatics-related academic or professional experience. Proficiency in common programming/scripting languages (ex: R, Python, C++, Perl) is required and preferably a knowledge of open source genome assembly software tools (ex: SISRS and TIGR assembler). Teaching experience in the classroom and/or on-line is required. Experience working with community college and transfer students as well as the use of innovative teaching strategies is desired but not required.
