Job Description
Georgia Gwinnett College is now accepting applications for part-time faculty positions in Biology for Anatomy & Physiology in the School of Science & Technology for the academic year (2026-2027). The posting will remain active for AY26-27 hiring (Fall, Spring, and Summer). The Biology Faculty will teach Anatomy and Physiology to Exercise Science, Pre-Allied Health and Pre-Nursing students for future semester terms. Applicants should demonstrate successful instruction in Anatomy and Physiology or have a strong background in Anatomy and Physiology and demonstrate successful instruction in biology-related courses. Applicants should also demonstrate their ability to interact well with colleagues as they will work closely with faculty and staff to ensure successful instruction of the course. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate an aptitude for innovative teaching styles, hands-on and active learning pedagogy and those with undergraduate teaching experience. This position teaches students in Allied Health and Pre-Nursing fields, thus an ability to emphasize real-life application of knowledge is preferred. In addition to the above, this position will review, evaluate and recommend student learning materials, and evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving institutional and course goals.
Part-Time faculty positions are semester-based positions and report directly to the Department Chair. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, online, hybrid and/or blended formats. These positions are on an as-needed basis. Positions require additional time outside of class to provide written feedback to students and to meet individually with students throughout the semester. Part-Time faculty may teach in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. Classes at Georgia Gwinnett College are offered morning, afternoon and evening including weekends.
- Developing course curricula, including the syllabus, lesson plans, and graded assignments, in accordance with the requirements of the upper division program and in consultation with the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.
- Reviewing, evaluating and recommending student learning materials.
- Evaluating students to measure their progress in achieving institutional and course goals.
- Timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction.
Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 30 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Terminal degree in the teaching discipline
1-year college-level teaching
Sustained professional engagement that demonstrates relevance and currency in the field of teaching
