Biorepository Laboratory Technician

Job Summary

• Prepares samples (manual and robotic) for storage, distribution and/or shipment per biorepository Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Tracks specimens and enters data for sample processing.
• Reviews sample reports and identifies specimens requiring additional handling and processing.
• Maintains accurate documentation of sample collection, processing, storage conditions, and chain of custody records.
• Works with study PIs and study coordinators to develop laboratory flow diagrams to comply with study specifications.
• Validates new equipment, maintains and monitors repository-specific equipment.
• Contributes to efficient lab workflow, process improvements and compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required

• Bachelor's degree (preferably in biology, chemistry, or biotechnology experience).

Preferred

• Master's degree (preferably in biology, chemistry, or biotechnology).

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred

• Some laboratory experience.
