Botanical Garden Graduate Student Intern

Position Summary

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia at The University of Georgia is seeking a highly motivated graduate assistant intern in our Science and Conservation department from June to July. The student will assist the department they are assigned to and attend to duties outlined in the Internship Learning Contract and Expectations Form that has been signed by the student.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Work alongside staff mentor and supervisor towards goals outline in the Learning Contract which includes a departmental specific project. Spend time developing a product to be showcased at the end of the internship to profile the lessons learned and enhanced skills during the experience. Intern will be expected to gain a broad understanding of how product fits within mission of organization through spending a pre-determined time with each department. Detailed duties will be outlined in the Internship Learning Contract. Percentage of time: 80
• Assist with public service and outreach programs as part of the holistic experiential training of the inner workings of the organization. This can include supporting and working in other departments within the State Botanical Garden of GA. Percentage of time: 15
• Other duties as assigned in the Internship Learning Contract or based on needs in other garden departments Percentage of time: 5
